Germany to give Ukraine a large number of armoured vehicles

The German government intends to provide Ukraine with a defence aid package, including many armoured vehicles.

The German government reports this.

Germany's planned military assistance includes dozens of armoured vehicles, namely 64 Bandvagn 206 (BV206) tracked all-terrain vehicles and 66 armoured personnel carriers of an unnamed model.

In particular, it was reported that Ukraine has already received two other HX81 tractors, seven TheMIS tracked remotely operated ground vehicles, and 105 mm tank ammunition.

In total, the German government has financed military assistance to Ukraine worth €5.4 billion for 2023. The list includes supplies from the German Armed Forces and German industry and funding for partner assistance activities.

On May 31, Germany updated its list of military aid. It announced a new delivery, stating that it has already handed over 54 Vector reconnaissance drones to Ukraine but plans to add radar systems, pickup trucks, lorries, and other aid.

It will be recalled that on May 14, the German government prepared an arms package for military support to Ukraine worth around €2.7 billion.

The federal government then focused on strengthening Ukraine's air defence system and planned to transfer four more Iris-T-SLM air defence systems, 12 IRIS-T SLS launchers, and hundreds of guided missiles for the system.

Also, on April 26, Germany provided an aid package to Ukraine, including eight Zetros trucks, one IRIS-T surface-to-air missile system, and two 8x6 forklifts with eight roll-off containers.
