Zelenskyy held a closed meeting with the US House of Representatives and Senate in Washington
Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with House leaders and members on U.S. aid for the war against Russia.
This is reported by the Voice of America.
The meeting was commented on by Republican Congressman Michael McCaul, who said that Ukraine would receive a new financial assistance package. According to him, the majority at the meeting supported this decision.
"I asked, 'What is your plan to win? And what do you need to win?" In particular, there are two things: aviation - F-16s and ATACMS. They need long-range artillery to strike at Crimea, where Iranian drones are flying from, and they don't have that now," Foreign Affairs Committee Chair McCaul commented on the meeting.
He added that the Ukrainians were "clearing the fields at night and moving forward without air cover".
"We would not send our troops in such conditions. So we have to give them what they need," McCaul said.
It will be recalled that Zelenskyy arrived in Washington on a working visit. This is his second visit to the United States since the full-scale invasion. The President of Ukraine is to meet with US President Joe Biden.
