Wagner PMC fighters remain in Belarus despite reports of their return to Russia

Russian mercenaries of the Wagner PMC are still on the territory of Belarus.
The Belarusian monitoring group Belaruski Gayun reported this.
The monitoring group said that on August 5, it received a report about the alleged search for buses with drivers to send Wagner PMC mercenaries from Asipovichy to Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Moscow, and St. Petersburg.
"The main reason why the mercenaries allegedly began to leave Belarus en masse was Lukashenka's alleged reluctance to participate in the financing of the PMC (he expected the funding to come from Russia)," the report said.
Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Lukashenka had previously stated that the Wagner mercenaries would stay in Belarus " at their own expense."
Information about the return of the Wagner PMC to Russia has not been confirmed. As of the morning of August 11, the monitoring group did not record any movements of the Wagner convoys in the direction of Russia.
It will be recalled that Lithuania and Poland decided to strengthen border security with Belarus because of the presence of Wagner PMC mercenaries there.
