Volodymyr Zelenskyy launched the tradition of holding the Iftar at the official level in Ukraine

As Ukrinform reports, The President of Ukraine announced this during the first Iftar.

Muslim service members and representatives of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People attended this event.

"We affirm that Ukraine values every person and every community," Zelenskyy says.

The President emphasised that diversity, enshrined in respect, is part of the character of an independent Ukraine. He thanked the Muslims who defend Ukraine "so that there is freedom and security throughout our territory." 

Iftar is the end of the day's fast by eating after sunset. Iftar will be held during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
