Volodymyr Zelenskyy holds a phone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping
For the first time since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping - the press service of the President of Ukraine.
"I had a long and informative phone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping. I believe that it, as well as the appointment of the Ambassador of Ukraine to China, will give a powerful impetus to the development of our bilateral relations," Zelenskyy posts on his Twitter page.
During a conversation with Volodimir Zelenskyy, the Chinese leader said that China would send a special representative for Eurasian Affairs to Ukraine and neighbouring countries for "in-depth communication on the political settlement of the 'crisis' in Ukraine".
Following the conversation, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree appointing former Minister of Strategic Industries Pavlo Riabikin as Ukraine's Ambassador to China.
