Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirms that Ukraine used ATACMS missiles for the first time
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that Ukraine has used ATACMS missiles to attack Russian targets in the temporarily occupied territories.
He said this in an evening briefing.
"Today, I am especially grateful to the United States. Our agreements with President Biden are being implemented. They are being implemented very accurately — ATACMS have proven themselves," he said.
On the night of October 17, the Special Operations Forces conducted a special operation, DRAGONFLY. As a result of the attack, nine helicopters of various modifications, special equipment, an air defence launcher and an ammunition depot of the Russians were destroyed at the airfields of Berdiansk and Luhansk. Runways at the airfields were also damaged.
On September 22, NBC News reported Biden telling Zelenskyy that the United States would provide Ukraine with a small number of ATACMS missiles. Three US officials and a congressional representative told journalists about this.
