Volodymyr Zelenskyy and UN Secretary-General hold talks in Kyiv

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the UN Secretary-General held talks in Kyiv. One of the topics was the extension of the grain deal, which expires on 18 March — the Office of the President.

The Office of the President says that during the talks in Kyiv, the parties focused primarily on security issues — ways to restore Ukrainian, European and global security, as well as the implementation of the Ukrainian peace formula.

They also discussed the return of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian citizens, including children, who were deported to Russia.

"We have agreed today that the continuation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative after 18 March is critically important for the whole world," the press service quoted the president as saying.

In addition, the UN Secretary-General and the Ukrainian president also discussed how to restore the security of all Ukrainian nuclear power plants, including Zaporizhzhia, which had been compromised by Russia.
