US to hand over thousands of confiscated Iranian weapons and ammunition to Ukraine — CNN
The United States wants to transfer confiscated Iranian weapons and ammunition to the Ukrainian military.
CNN reported this, citing its own sources.
It is not yet known how the US will facilitate the transfer of weapons, as the UN requires that confiscated weapons be destroyed or stored.
The Central Command is supposed to announce this decision next week.
Later, the US Central Command confirmed the transfer of more than one million rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition to Ukraine.
The Iranian ammunition was confiscated in July 2023.
It will be recalled that Joe Biden signed a bill on a temporary budget that does not include financial support for Ukraine. The bill was adopted to avoid the shutdown of the US government. It will remain in effect until November 17, 2023.
On October 3, the US House of Representatives voted to remove Kevin McCarthy from the post of Speaker.
McCarthy was suspected of a "secret deal" with President Joe Biden.
The US President allegedly agreed to sign a temporary bill to avoid a shutdown, and McCarthy promised to approve an aid package for Ukraine later.
The former Speaker denied this information.
