US Supreme Court allows Donald Trump to run for president
Washington, USA (Svidomi) — The US Supreme Court has ruled to keep Donald Trump on the ballot for the presidency. The ruling overturned the decision by the Colorado Supreme Court that had disqualified Trump from running for president because of his role in the January 6, 2021 riot.
This decision will have nationwide implications that may end the debate over whether the 14th Amendment bars him from holding office due to his role in the uprising of January 6, 2021.
The Supreme Court's ruling comes a day before Super Tuesday, when Colorado and 14 other states and one territory will hold presidential primaries. The US Supreme Court voted unanimously.
Trump himself called the decision a "big win for America," CNN quoted him as saying.
