US sanctions three Chinese companies for ballistic missile proliferation

The United States has imposed sanctions on three Chinese companies that have been working to supply missile equipment for Pakistan's ballistic missile programme.

This was announced by the State Department on 20 October.

The companies in question are General Technology Limited, Beijing Luo Luo Technology Development, and Changzhou Utek Composite. They were working on the supply of missile equipment for Pakistan's ballistic missile programme.

General Technology Limited worked on the supply of brazing materials used to connect components in ballistic missile engines and in the production of combustion chambers.

Beijing Luo Luo Technology Development is involved in the supply of mandrels and other equipment that can be used in the production of solid rocket engines and may be controlled by the Missile Technology Control Regime.

And Changzhou Utek Composite has been operating since 2019 to supply D-glass fibre glass, quartz cloth and high-silica cloth used in rocket systems.
