Ukrainian hackers attack Russia's largest Internet portal Mail.ru

Ukraine (Svidomi) — Ukraine's IT Army has attacked Russia's largest email service Mail.ru. It has stopped working, according to the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

In Russia, Mail.ru is a free email service (analogue to Gmail).

All users outside the territory of Russia and some domestic users have lost access to their accounts. Access to email means not only mail but also the ability to recover passwords, pass two-factor verification, and access to devices, the ministry said.

In January, Ukrainian cyber specialists attacked the Russian Space Hydrometeorological Centre.
