Ukrainian Air Force Commander confirms downing of Russian A-50 aircraft

Sea of Azov (Svidomi) —Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate and the Air Force have shot down a Russian A-50 aircraft, according to Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk.
Russian telegram channels published videos confirming the airplane crash and fire.
The loss of this type of aircraft was the third for the Russian army.
In February 2023, Belarusian partisans disabled an A-50 at the Machulishchy airbase. In early January 2024, the Ukrainian military shot down a similar aircraft over the Sea of Azov and shot down an IL-22.
