Ukraine to produce nuclear fuel to replace Russian fuel on the European market

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko announced this.
Halushchenko has already visited the enterprise where such fuel will be produced. Initially, it will be used for nuclear power units of Ukrainian NPPs and then exported.
It has not yet been announced at which enterprise nuclear fuel will be manufactured.
Ukraine has already started production of components for VVER-1000 fuel units, and will later start production of VVER-400 units.
By the end of 2023, Ukraine expects to complete the licensing process and enter the commercial production of shanks, and in 2024 — the commercial production of fuel cartridge heads.
