Ukraine returns to Russia all seriously wounded POWs whose condition allowed transportation

Ukraine has transferred severely wounded prisoners of war whose condition allowed transportation to the Russian Federation under Articles 109-114 of the Geneva Conventions.

The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported this.

This is not an exchange of prisoners of war, but repatriation — the return of seriously wounded without any conditions.

The Coordination Headquarters noted that Russia disregards international norms and detains the wounded and seriously ill, as well as children, civilians, and those who were captured before the full-scale invasion. According to international humanitarian law, all of them must be returned by repatriation without any conditions.
