Ukraine releases one hundred servicemen from Russian captivity

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced this.

Most of the released soldiers took part in the defence of Mariupol; the rest performed combat missions in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions.

The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported that among the exchanged soldiers were 49 members of the National Guard of Ukraine, 25 border guards, and 26 members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At least 28 soldiers are injured or seriously ill.

The Russian Ministry of Defence reported that the exchange took place in a 100-for-100 format.

The exchange was supported by the United Arab Emirates.
