Ukraine leases air defence systems for the heating season — Ukrainian Air Force

Ukraine is leasing air defence systems to strengthen its defences during the cold season.

Yurii Ihnat, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, said this during a national TV marathon.

"We already have this practice. Some countries have already provided [their air defence systems] for use. Every country is primarily concerned about its own defence. No one is going to give us their air defence systems for free. Why does it take so long to supply air defence systems? Because there is not enough of this equipment in the world to give it to us," Ihnat said.

The Air Force spokesperson did not name the countries that temporarily provide their systems to Ukraine.

"This information is sensitive, especially since our partners did not want us to announce it," Ihnat added.
