Ukraine investigates the alleged role of Belarus in the forced deportation of children from the occupied territories

Ukraine has launched a criminal investigation into the "forced transportation/deportation of over 19,000 children" from the occupied districts of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions, including to Belarus.

Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin's office reported this to Reuters.

"The fact and circumstances of taking Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to the so-called 'recreational camps' in Belarus are currently under investigation in the mentioned criminal proceedings," Kostin commented.

Earlier, the Belarusian opposition reported the involvement of the regime of self-proclaimed President Alyaksandar Lukashenka in the transfer of Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories to Belarus.
