Ukraine has lost approximately UAH 9.3 billion due to the blockade of the Ukrainian-Polish border

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev, has said that exports of Ukrainian goods across the Polish border have dropped by 40%.

As a result, Ukraine lost approximately UAH 9.3 billion.

Hetmantsev made the statement during a national telethon.

"This is a huge amount of money that the army has not received and which we desperately need today," the Committee Chairman said.

He added that the customs is 19% underperforming the plan, as opposed to the overperformance in October.

It will be recalled that on November 6, Polish carriers blocked truck traffic at three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. Their demands included the cancellation of transport visa-free travel for Ukrainian drivers.

The European Commission opposes this decision. On December 1, the Uhryniv-Dołhobyczow border crossing was opened for empty trucks.
