The unconditional return of seriously wounded soldiers is in line with the Geneva Conventions.

Ukraine and Russia, with the mediation of Türkiye, are currently working on creating an effective corridor for prisoner exchanges. In particular, it is about the return of seriously wounded servicemen, as well as children, the elderly, and civilians illegally detained by Russia.

"I will not say that the Russian side has already agreed and started to implement it, but it has recognized that it is indeed in the Geneva Convention," Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Human Rights Ombudsman, commented on the three-day meeting with the Russian Ombudsman Moskalkova.

According to Lubinets, more than 20,000 families who are looking for their relatives have contacted him.
