Ukraine and Canada sign an updated Free Trade Agreement and a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the construction of hydroelectric power plants in Ukraine
On September 22, Ukraine and Canada signed two agreements: an updated Free Trade Agreement between the two countries and a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the construction of hydroelectric power plants in Ukraine.
This was reported on the website of the President's Office.
The updated Free Trade Agreement will help create a new favourable climate for economic relations between the two countries, for the development of trade in goods and services, investment, the formation of a developed competitive market economy in line with national priorities, the development of its key sectors, the implementation of systemic reforms and the improvement of the general welfare of the population, the Presidential Office says.
A memorandum of cooperation in the construction of hydroelectric power plants in Ukraine was signed by representatives of Ukrhydroenergo and Canadian AECON Construction Global Services Incorporated.
The agreement provides for the study of the possible participation of Canadian AECON in the construction of Kaniv PSPP and Kakhovka HPP.
It will be recalled that on September 22, President Zelenskyy arrived in Canada for an unannounced visit.
