UK government imposes new restrictions on Russia
The UK Treasury has imposed new sanctions against Russia. This time, the restrictions apply to the leaders of the Wagner PMC.
This is stated in a statement by the UK Treasury.
In particular, the head of the Wagner PMC in Mali, Ivan Maslov, has been sanctioned.
The sanctions have been imposed on Andrei Mandel, Mikhail Potepkin, AL-SOLAG MINING COMPANY LTD, Meroe Gold and M-Invest, which are associated with the activities of the Wagner PMC in Sudan.
The sanctions also apply to Aleksandr Ivanov, Aleksandr Maloletka, Vitaliy Perfiliev, Konstantin Pikalov and Dmitry Sytyi, as well as LOBAYE INVEST SARLU and SEWA SECURITY SERVICES. All of these individuals and entities are associated with the activities of the Wagner PMC in the Central African Republic.
Nevertheless, the UK Government has lifted restrictions on Russian businessman Oleg Tinkov, who has been under sanctions since March 2022. The reasons for this are not known.
