Two killed in Dnipropetrovsk and a missile attack in Poltava regions

Russian army has attacked ten regions of Ukraine over the past 24 hours

On the night of June 8, the Russians launched an X-59 guided missile and 13 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs. Air defence forces shot down the missile and 9 drones in the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian military shelled the territory of ten regions of Ukraine. On June 7, the Russian army attacked 84 settlements and 166 infrastructure facilities.

The Russians struck at the outskirts of Poltava, the centre of Ukraine. The shelling damaged over 50 private houses. One woman was pulled from the rubble, however, she died in a hospital.

In Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, next to the temporarily occupied Enerhodar, where Zaporizhzhia NPP is located, a 71-year-old woman was killed by artillery shelling in her house. In the Chervonohryhorivka community, the shelling killed a 70-year-old man.

During the day, the Russians launched over a dozen attacks on the Nikopol district. On the morning of June 8, Russians launched seven kamikaze drones and shelled Nikopol and the community of Myrove with artillery. Residential buildings, outbuildings, a utility company, an administrative building, a religious institution, infrastructure facilities, and power lines were damaged.

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, Senkovo, Shevchenkove, Kupiansk, Ivano-Shyichene, Kozacha Lopan and Ruski Tyshky came under fire. A man was killed in Ivano-Shyichene. Three other people in the region were injured. A gas pipeline was damaged in Ruski Tyshky.

During the day, Russians fired 290 times at the Zaporizhzhia region in the south, partially occupied since 2022. The Russian army attacked Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Preobrazhenka, Novoandriivka and Orikhiv with aircraft, MLRS, artillery and drones.

Russian troops fired 12 times at localities in the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine. The towns of Kostiantynivka, and Selydove, the villages of Hrodivka, Novoekonomichne, Pivnichne, Shcherbynivka, and the villages of Lysivka, Markove, and Novoukrainka came under fire. Police recorded 57 destructions of civilian objects. One person was injured in Hrodivka and one in Pivnichne.

In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, the Russian troops struck Makiivka, Stelmakhivka, Kuzemivka and Nevske.

In the Kherson region, south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, Russians shelled Kizomys, Tomyna Balka, Antonivka, Veletenske, Ivanivka, Chaikyne, Beryslav, Davydiv Brid, Burgunka, Novoberislav, Mykhailivka, Monastyrske, Dudchany, Vesele and the city of Kherson. One person was injured. Residential buildings, a critical infrastructure facility, garages and an outbuilding were damaged.

In the Mykolaiv region, south of Ukraine, Russian troops attacked the Kutsurub community twice with FPV drones. On the evening of June 7, artillery strikes were carried out on the waters of the Ochakiv community.

In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, 26 attacks were recorded on the border areas and settlements of the region. The Bilopillia, Yunakivka, Krasnopillia, Seredyna Buda, Znob-Novhorod, Shalyhyne, Esman and Velyka Pysarivka communities were shelled.

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians shelled Mykolayivka, Zaliznyi Mist, Baranivka, Mkhy and Leonivka in the Semenivka community and Hirsk in the Snovsk community. Over the day, 28 explosions were recorded.
