Two Belarusian helicopters violate Polish airspace
Poland's Ministry of Defence has reported that two Belarusian helicopters violated Polish airspace.
This is reported in a statement on the ministry's website.
The incident took place on August 1.
These helicopters were conducting exercises near the border, which Belarus had warned Poland about in advance.
In response to the incident, Polish Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak ordered an increase in the number of soldiers at the border and the deployment of additional forces and equipment, including the number of combat helicopters.
Poland also informed NATO about the incident and summoned the Charge d'Affaires of Belarus to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to explain the incident.
"Recently, Russia and Belarus have intensified hybrid activities against Poland," the Ministry of Defence added.
