Türkiye grants Baykar a licence to manufacture drones in Ukraine

Türkiye has issued licences to Baykar for the production of Bayraktar TB2 and Akıncı UAVs in Ukraine.
Akit reported this, citing Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar.
The plant in Ukraine is scheduled to open in 2025. The volume of planned investments is $95.5 million.
In 2019, Baykar registered Avia Ventures LLC in Kyiv to open a plant in Ukraine. At the beginning of last year, Avia Ventures received a licence to import and export military products.
In February 2022, Ukraine and Türkiye signed an agreement on cooperation in the aerospace industry. The document provides for special tax and customs benefits for Turkish investors in Ukraine's aerospace sector.
It will be recalled that on April 30, Ukraine signed three agreements with Turkish manufacturer Baykar. The details of the contracts were not disclosed.
In October 2022, Haluk Bayraktar said that his company plans to complete the construction of a plant in Ukraine in two years.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented Bayraktar with the Order of Merit, first class.
