Turkish President Erdoğan supports Ukraine's accession to NATO

Following a meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan supported Ukraine's accession to NATO.

He stated this during a joint press conference with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Ukraine deserves to be in NATO," Erdoğan said.

He added that no one would lose from a just peace.

Türkiye also supports the extension of the so-called "grain deal," which expires on July 17.

"We continue to work on the grain corridor. We want an extension for at least 3 months. We are expecting this and will make efforts to extend the agreement for 2 years," the Turkish president said.

In addition, Erdoğan plans to discuss the release of Ukrainian prisoners with Putin, in particular during their personal meeting next month.
