The unknown buyer of the Leopard 1 tanks bought in Belgium was the German concern Rheinmetall

Rheinmetall has confirmed the information about being the unknown buyer of Leopard 1 tanks for Ukraine in Belgium.

This was reported by the Ukrainian service of DW.

Ukraine will receive about 30 tanks. However, the terms of their delivery are unknown.

Earlier, Belgian media reported that an unknown buyer had bought Leopard 1 tanks for Ukraine in Belgium. On August 7, they were shipped to Ukraine via Germany and Italy. The tanks are yet to undergo major repairs.

Rheinmetall plans to set up a repair centre for Leopard tanks in Ukraine. Other military equipment supplied by Germany will also be repaired there.
