The United States signed contracts worth about $1.2 billion to replenish stocks of weapons sent to Ukraine

According to U.S. Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment Bill LaPlante, the funds are needed to maintain the combat capability of the U.S. Army, as a lot of equipment has been withdrawn from U.S. military units to help Ukraine.

It is assumed that about $352 million will go to replace Javelin missiles, $624 million - to replace Stinger missiles and $33 million - to replace HIMARS systems.

LaPlante also noted that on September 28 he will hold a meeting with national armaments directors to discuss further support of Ukraine by the defense industrial base.

According to him, the agenda includes the development of a global picture of the supply chain.
