The Ukrainian delegation will not work in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly but will participate in negotiations with partners on reforming the organization

Yevheniia Kravchuk, MP, member of the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), told Suspilne about this.

She stressed that the organization needs to be reformed, as politicians in their parliaments make decisions by majority vote, not consensus. Therefore, when one or two countries can block all decisions, it all comes to a "dead end."

Yevheniia Kravchuk noted that Austria, as the host country, has issued visas to 61 Russians and allowed Russian citizens who openly express anti-Ukrainian slogans to participate in the work.

"Together with the Ukrainian community, we are working on protests near the Hofburg, where this event will take place so that it does not become the norm. But we will not attend the meeting ourselves," Kravchuk said.

Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, MP and member of the delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, explained that the refusal of participation of the Ukrainian delegation, as well as the position of Ukraine's partners, is aimed at depriving Russia of the opportunity to speak on this platform.

"The joint position of the Ukrainian delegation and the Ukrainian authorities is that we cannot consecrate propaganda events with our presence. We have to use the Parliamentary Assembly to get our point across. It will be much more effective and appropriate to protest outside, rather than being in the hall and protesting, blocking, creating obstacles while still listening to Russian narratives," explained Yurchyshyn.
