The Senate of Italy recognises the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people

The Senate of Italy has recognised the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people. "130 deputies voted in favour. Four more abstained.

This was reported by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba.

"This important step restores historical justice, honours millions of victims, and warns future generations against the crime of genocide," the Minister wrote on his twitter account.

35 countries have already recognised the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people. Among the recent ones are the Netherlands, Croatia and Slovakia.
