The NATO Summit in Vilnius demonstrated the degree to which Russia's war in Ukraine has set back the goals for which the Kremlin launched the war

The NATO Summit in Vilnius has demonstrated how Russia's war in Ukraine has hindered the achievement of the goals for which the Kremlin started this war.

This was reported by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Preventing NATO expansion was one of Russia's main demands at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

The American Institute for the Study of War believes that the Russian information space showed a "muted" reaction to the NATO summit, which probably indicates the Kremlin's "recognition" of this defeat.

"The lack of general outcry within the Russian information space regarding developments at the NATO summit, as well as Finland’s NATO accession and Turkey’s agreement to forward Sweden’s accession protocol, likely indicates that the Kremlin has internalized these defeats and desires to avoid dwelling on them," the report says.

As a reminder, on July 12, at the NATO summit in Vilnius, Ukraine, and the leaders of the Group of Seven countries agreed on a Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine.
