The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine denies information about conscription of Ukrainian men from abroad starting next year

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is not considering the conscription of Ukrainian men into the Armed Forces of Ukraine starting next year.

This was stated by the head of the Press and Information Department of the Ministry of Defence, Illarion Pavliuk, in a commentary to Babel.

Pavliuk said that the German newspaper Bild, which interviewed Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umerov, had shifted the focus on mobilisation in the Ukrainian army.

"There are no discussions on the mechanisms of conscription into the Ukrainian Armed Forces from abroad on the agenda," said the head of the Press and Information Department.

The Ukrainian Defence Minister wanted to convey to Ukrainians abroad how important it was for them to join the army. However, he did not talk about conscripting men from abroad next year.

It will be recalled that Bild published an interview with Defence Minister Rustem Umerov, who allegedly said that the next year, men of military age abroad were to be drafted into the Defence Forces.
