The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people called on Crimeans to protest against the illegal "mobilization" into the ranks of the Russian army

The chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Çubarov, announced this.

The Mejlis called for protests to be held on the Central Square of Simferopol at noon on weekends, and at 5 p.m. on weekdays.

The appeal states that the mass "mobilization" of Crimeans, which began simultaneously throughout the entire territory of the peninsula on September 21, shows that Russia secretly conducted all organizational measures even before the "formal announcement of mobilization."

Crimean Tatars predominate in the lists of citizens of various nationalities "mobilized" on the peninsula. In some regions, this number is up to 80-90% of the number of everyone included in the lists.

The Mejlis believes that this disproportion in the ethnic composition of the "drafted" residents of the temporarily occupied Crimea is "a purposeful destruction of the adult male population of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people."
