The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, came to Kyiv for the second time during the full-scale war — Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klytschko
"Today, I walked through the city that has survived. Kyiv is resisting. Just like the whole of Ukraine. It resists, despite the cold, despite the bombing, despite the restrictions, mourning the dead. And we share this sadness with you by honouring them," Anne Hidalgo said.
The mayor of Paris spoke at the Kyiv City Council and reiterated that she would oppose the participation of Russian athletes in the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in the French capital.
"As long as Russian troops continue to bomb you, target your civilians and your infrastructure, as long as Russian soldiers occupy your territory, I do not want Russian athletes to participate in sports competitions. I believe in this as a mayor, a political leader, and a European. I do not doubt that the International Olympic Committee will be able to support this position," said Anne Hidalgo.
The Parisian delegation handed over ten generators to Kyiv.
