Such steps are necessary to slow down the advance of Ukrainian troops.

The head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, notes that in the south of Ukraine, particularly in the temporarily occupied Kherson region, the Russian Federation has deployed "the most trained and most combat-ready Russian units".

"The combat component, the units that can pose any danger to us, is about 40 thousand. Kherson is in the middle of this grouping. These are troops in Kherson, in the western bank of the Dnipro river, and troops deployed on the eastern bank," Budanov said.
