The air temperature in the premises will be from 17 to 18 degrees Celsius, which is about four degrees below the norm, said the head of Naftogaz Yurii Vitrenko.

Vitrenko added that Ukraine needs funds from foreign partners to import gas.

"Without financial support, we will run out of gas, and that will mean we will have really high risks for the energy system," the company CEO says.

Ukraine produces about 60% of the gas it needs for internal use, and imports the rest from neighboring EU countries at market prices.

However, these calculations may change due to possible strikes by the Russian Federation on Ukraine's critical gas infrastructure. About 50% of Ukraine's gas fields are located near the front line in the Kharkiv region.
