The Foreign Ministry denies media reports that Ukraine allegedly asked not to include Belarus in the latest sanctions package — the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleh Nikolenko

"Instead, we are aware of discussions between the EU member states on further synchronisation of sanctions imposed on Russia. At the same time, according to our information, there is currently no consensus within the European Union," the representative of the Ministry wrote.

He also stresses that Ukraine and its partners are now actively working to content the tenth EU sanctions package.

Currently, a number of personal and sectoral sanctions have been imposed on Belarus for supporting the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. In particular, restrictions were imposed on Lukashenko, the military command of Belarus, 25 state bodies and companies of the Belarusian military-industrial complex, the central bank and 4 other Belarusian banks, etc.

Earlier, a Radio Liberty correspondent stated that allegedly one of the reasons why Belarus was not included in the latest package of sanctions had been Ukraine's request not to do so.
