The European Union announces the disbursement of the first tranche of macro-financial assistance package in the amount of EUR 3 billion to Ukraine

"Today, we are disbursing EUR 3 billion to Ukraine, which I am very proud of. This shows what we are capable of when we are united. We all know that Ukrainians are also fighting for us," Swedish Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson said before the meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council.

Sweden currently holds the presidency of the Council of Europe.

On January 16, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine and the EU had signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the provision of €18 billion of macro-financial assistance.
