The Czech President meets with a Ukrainian girl who was bullied at school

Czech President Petr Pavel met with a girl from Ukraine who was bullied by her classmates. The child's family moved to Czechia because of Russia's full-scale invasion.

Petr Pavel posted this on his Twitter page.

The incident occurred during a school trip. The children told the Ukrainian child that "Russia is the best." The girl replied that "Russia is sh*t," and then they spat in her face.

"I condemn bullying, humiliation, and violence in schools in general. And in the case of a child who had to leave her country and friends because of the war and to whom we offered a safe haven, it is especially shameful. I appreciate the reaction of the school and the parents and the fact that an apology was made. But the scars on her soul will remain," Petr Pavel wrote on his Twitter page.

The Ukrainian Embassy in Czechia also responded to the incident.

"The Embassy strongly condemns the offensive actions against a Ukrainian girl in a Czech school. This is an unacceptable violation that causes deep indignation and concern. No one should be subjected to violence or discrimination, especially based on nationality," the embassy stated.
