The Royal Mail warns customers of malfunctions due to a "cyber incident" and urges them not to send international letters and parcels until experts resolve the problem.

The BBC writes that they saw messages from hackers about a ransom in the amount of millions of dollars. It reads: "Your data are stolen and encrypted."

Sources close to the investigation say there are workarounds to get the system back up and running. Royal Mail is vital to the UK economy and critical infrastructure.

A National Crime Agency spokesperson said they were aware of the Royal Mail incident and the service was working with the National Cyber ​​Security Center to investigate the damage.
