The Climate Office starts its work in Ukraine

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, together with European Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius and German Federal Minister for the Environment Steffi Lemke, opened the Climate Office in Kyiv.
The press service of the Ministry of Environment of Ukraine reports.
The opening took place within the framework of the International Conference "United for Justice. United for Nature".
The Office will support the government in implementing the national climate policy: it will support decarbonisation projects, raise funds for climate projects to rebuild Ukraine, promote the development of an emissions trading system in Ukraine, etc.
In 2025, Ukraine plans to introduce carbon certificates that will allow trading in excess CO2.
"In 2026, the emissions trading system will be fully operational in Ukraine. Now we need to verify all the available data and show the world our potential for free quotas," said Ruslan Strilets, Minister of Environmental Protection.
