CES brings together various global companies, from technology giants to the smallest startups.

Gary Shapiro, the chairman of the Consumer Technology Association, which holds the event, says that this year Russia is "not welcome".

"We didn't invite them this year because of the political situation. We did not consider it appropriate," he said.

According to Shapiro, Russian companies were not allowed not because of the US legal policy, but because of the policy of the organization. At the request of Russian companies to participate in the exhibition, the head of the association said that "they can move to another country if they are interested".

About a dozen Ukrainian technology companies are represented at CES-2023, many of which demonstrate sustainable development concepts.  In particular, one of them, Releaf, makes paper from fallen leaves.

Today, January 5, is the official first day of the exhibition.
