The Batumi City Court found Maryna Chobanian guilty of insubordination and imposed a fine of ₾2,000 on the woman

A court in Batumi has imposed a fine of two thousand Georgian lari on a Ukrainian woman who was detained the day before during a protest.

The Georgian office of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported this.

Maryna Chobanian was acquitted of charges of disorderly conduct and violation of public order but found guilty of insubordination.

In court, the woman said that her detention was so "sudden and aggressive" that she did not understand what had happened and began to push the police away instinctively.

In a comment to NewsGeorgia, Chobanian said she would file an appeal.

It will be recalled that Maryna Chobanian and Dmytro Zakrevskyi were detained during the protests in Batumi during the arrival of the Russian cruise ship Astoria Grande.
