The Armed Forces of Ukraine officially informed about possible preparation of a provocation on the territory of ZNPP

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported that Russians may be preparing a provocation on the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP in the near future. 

This statement was published on the General Staff's Facebook page.

According to the statement, on July 4, Russians placed unidentified objects similar to explosive devices on the outer wing of the third and fourth power units of the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

"Their detonation is not intended to damage the power units but can create an image of shelling from Ukraine. This is what the Russian media and telegram channels are misinforming about," the General Staff added.

Earlier, the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said that the Russians had mined the ZNPP cooler. 

The IAEA found no mines near the ZNPP cooling pond during its visit on June 15.
