Swiss Parliament fails to support arms re-export to Ukraine


The lower house of the Swiss parliament, the National Council, did not support the proposal to ease the ban on the re-export of arms and ammunition to Ukraine — Swissinfo. 

However, it did support an amendment that would allow re-exports if the UN Security Council condemns the aggressive war. But in practice, this does not change anything.

At the same time, there are four other proposals under consideration in parliament that should allow Switzerland to remain a neutral country, but allow the export and re-export of weapons and ammunition to conflict zones.
