Swiss Commission of the National Security Policy Council has approved the submission of a change in the legislation on the re-export of military equipment

The changes will allow the re-export of Swiss weapons from other countries to Ukraine.
The corresponding message appeared on the Parliament's website.
The initiative requires amendments to Article 18 of the Law on Military Materials. The Commission notes that the declaration may be revoked if another country violates international law and uses force against another country, as in the case of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The Commission believes that Switzerland should contribute to European security and provide more support to Ukraine. According to them, these changes are in line with the law of neutrality, as they do not allow direct exports from Switzerland but only apply to countries that buy Swiss equipment.
Next, the Commission will send the initiative to the Federal Department of Finance to revise the customs law.
