Svidomi launches a special project dedicated to the anniversary of the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war
It will be ten years since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war and occupation of Qırım (Crimea) and two years since the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February-March 2024. On this occasion, Svidomi online media is launching a special project dedicated to these dates.
We named the project "The War Continues: A History of Ten Years of Resistance". It will consist of 14 articles. In these articles, journalists will analyse events from the restoration of Ukraine's independence to the present day.
"In this project, we want to show the continuity of Russian aggression, which existed even before the war but not in such an evident form. Together with the team, we brainstormed ideas for materials that will explore the way Russia tried to seize the Black Sea Fleet, how Ukrainian services cooperated with the FSB and other issues," says editor-in-chief Anastasiia Bakulina about the project.
We also created a separate design for our special project. This design will unite all the materials.
"The main element in the design is the hourglass, which represents life's transience and cyclical nature. It also explains that standing still is impossible, and you must act here and now. The hourglass also has another explanation — it is a sign of grief and a promise to remember those who have died. Behind the clock, we decided to place photos of the most important events of the last 10 years," says Bohdana Makarchuk, Head of the Design Department.
The project will run from February 2 to 29. The articles will be available on all media platforms.
It will be recalled that in 2023, Svidomi launched a special project dedicated to the anniversary of the full-scale invasion called " The Centuries and a Year: The History of the Ukrainian Struggle".
