Starting September 1, 2023, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church will switch to a new style of holiday celebration

According to the head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Archbishop Sviatoslav, the decision of the Synod was influenced by the requests of the faithful and consultations with the clergy and monastics about the urgent need for calendar reform.

For those parishes or individual communities that do not yet feel ready for such a step (with the special blessing of the diocesan bishop), they can get the opportunity of liturgical life according to the old Julian calendar for the period until 2025.
