Slovak President opposes new military aid package for Ukraine

After the victory of the pro-Russian party Smer-SD in the elections, President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová opposed the provision of a new military aid package to Ukraine, which was being considered by the country's Ministry of Defence.
This was reported by the Slovak news portal Dennik N.
The Slovak Ministry of Defence was considering the possibility of providing Ukraine with another military aid package, which could have been transferred under the government of Ľudovít Ódor.
But, according to Čaputová, one must respect the results of the parliamentary elections, which were won by the Smer party, promising to stop supplying Ukraine with military equipment.
Čaputová is convinced that if she had ignored the position of Smer or other parties, it would have set an unfortunate precedent for the future.
It will be recalled that the populist party of former Prime Minister Robert Fico, Smer, won the parliamentary elections in Slovakia on September 30. Ukraine expressed its respect for the choice of the Slovak people.
