Since February 21, the temporary occupation "authorities" have reported at least 14 explosions near Mariupol

The UK Ministry of Defense intelligence announced this.

The explosions occurred at an ammunition cache at the airport, two fuel depots, and a steel plant used by Russia as a military base.

British intelligence notes that Russia is probably "concerned" that the explosions occurred in an area that was assessed as unreachable for Ukrainian attacks — temporarily occupied Mariupol is located at least 80 kilometers from the front line.

The Ministry of Defense notes that although Mariupol was largely destroyed at the beginning of the full-scale war, it is important because it is the largest city temporarily occupied in 2022 that Russia still controls. Mariupol is also located on a key logistical route.
