Russians launch massive attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure with 55 missiles and 21 drones
Air defence forces shot down 37 Kalibr and Х-101/Х-555 cruise missiles, two guided missiles and 20 Shahed attack drones.
Energy facilities in the Lviv, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions were attacked. DTEK reported that Russians attacked three thermal power plants at night. The TPP equipment was damaged.

In the Vinnytsia region, Russians hit a power facility. There were no casualties. Emergency services are working to extinguish the fire.

NPC Ukrenergo reported that power outages are expected throughout Ukraine on May 8 in the evening. Ukraine is seeking assistance from other countries to stabilise the power system.
